Inventory & Logistics Manager

Position Summary: 

The Inventory & Logistics Manager is responsible for order selection and loading products to be shipped from our facility; shipping and receiving inbound and outbound deliveries; maintaining inventory and quality control throughout the shipping and receiving process. In addition, the ideal candidate is passionate about sustainable agriculture and embraces Vertical Harvest's core values and mission.

Essential Responsibilities:

Order Selection and Loading

  1. Select and stage the correct product item number, quantities, and shelf life for shipment.
  2. Inspect product quality while selecting orders. Only pack products that meet quality standards. Isolate and report products with quality defects.
  3. Securely pack products on pallets or carts, shrink wrapping and labelling as needed.
  4. Move product to/from storage and loading dock for shipping and receiving.
  5. Accurately record product information on paperwork and enter into ERP systems.

Shipping and Receiving

  1. Using material handling equipment or by hand, move products, materials and supplies between storage areas and loading dock to be loaded/unloaded.
  2. Load/unload, inspect and put away shipments of materials and supplies.
  3. Inspect incoming shipments for quality defects, like damage, incorrect item numbers, or quantities.

Inventory Control

  1. Stock, organize and consolidate storage space, as needed.
  2. Rotate inventory by item number, lot code, and shelf life.
  3. Support periodic company inventory by counting products, materials, and supplies.

Operations Support

  1. Other duties as assigned, which may include cleaning, general labor, and administrative tasks.
  2. Willing to drive a 20 plus foot truck, when needed

Requirements:

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS: 

  1. Minimum High School Degree/GED (Bachelor Degree Preferred)
  2. Experience in greenhouse work and/or hydroponics preferred
  3. Experience in a warehouse or a distribution center is preferred.
  4. Handling food products and following food safety policies preferred.
  5. Using a pallet-jack and material handling equipment.
  6. Storing, handling, and shipping products, materials and supplies.
  7. Must be comfortable driving a box truck 
  8. Must have a valid drivers license.
  9. Using computers and ERP systems
  10. Perform basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
  11. Lift and carry 50 pounds, stand, and continuously walk around for a full 8-hour shift.
  12. Open availability to work various schedules including nights, holidays, and weekend
