HR Manager - Vertical Harvest Maine

Position Summary: 

The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of Vertical Harvest Maine's Human Resources (HR) department. The HR Manager will  plan, direct, and coordinate human resource management activities to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as: Compensation and Benefits Administration, Recruiting and Retention, Employee Relations, Training and Development, Wellness and Safety, and Regulatory Compliance. The HR Manager will work to ensure that all HR related function integrate and support Vertical Harvest's Grow Well employment model

Essential Responsibilities:

  1.  Responsible for implementing and coordinating policies, procedures and programs including salary and benefits administration, recruitment, employee training and development, safety, and employee relations. 
  2. Manage recruiting by assisting department managers and supervisors with identifying staffing needs, creating job postings and job descriptions, and receiving approval on placing job ads and/or using recruiters.
  3. Plan and conduct new employee orientation to communicate the bank’s personnel policies, job duties, working conditions, and employee benefits.
  4. Serve as a liaison between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies, and helping to resolve work-related issues.
  5. Ensure all HR policies, procedures, systems, and process align with and support the Vertical Harvest Grow Well Employment model
  6. Manage a performance appraisal system that drives effective growth and development. Create, schedule and conduct performance reviews and take action to improve employee performance and experience.
  7. Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs (webinars, seminars, workshops, conferences).
  8. Ensure legal compliance by implementing and monitoring HR strategies and initiatives that are aligned with the bank’s business strategy and comply with local, state, and federal laws.
  9. Engage recruitment resources including local colleges and job placement agencies.  Attend recruitment events as needed. 

Requirements:

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS: 

  1.   Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or similar field, or equivalent experience.
  2.   Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Human Resources required.
  3.   In the five years, has worked in an organization of 25-75+ employees a minimum of two (2) years.
  4.   Certification in Human Resources preferred.
  5.   Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to keep information confidential, build rapport and resolve conflict fairly and consistently.
  6.   Detail oriented with superior organizational skills.
  7.   Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data-informed decision-making skills.
  8.   Autonomous, self-driven approach to responsibilities.
  9.   Ability to manage conflict and maintain composure in a variety of situations.
  10.   Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products.
