Director of Operations & Finance - Vertical Harvest Maine

Position Summary: 

The Director of Operations & Finance is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative and financial functions of the company. The Director of Operations & Finance will oversee and manage key operational and administrative functions, including HR, IT, Office Management, and Administration, while providing deep financial expertise to support the company's strategic goals. This position is crucial for ensuring operational efficiency and financial health at Vertical Harvest Maine.

Essential Responsibilities:

Strategic and People Leadership

  1. Act as a direct manager for the admin operations group while setting an example for leadership within the organization.
  2. Collaborate extensively across departments and with senior leadership to align operations with company strategy.
  3. Drive process improvements across functions

Financial Oversight

  1. Oversee financial planning, reporting, and budgeting processes for all departments.
  2. Prepare, analyze, and communicate financial reports and forecasts.
  3. Manage budgeting processes, including annual budget forecasting.
  4. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices.
  5. Monitor cash flow and manage cost control initiatives.

Human Resources Management

  1. Manage and supervise the day-to-day activities of the HR and Grow Well staff
  2. Oversee HR operations, including recruitment, benefits administration, and employee relations.
  3. Develop and implement HR policies that align with company culture and goals.
  4. Oversee implementation of the Vertical Harvest Grow Well employment model 

IT and Systems Management

  1. Manage and supervise the day-to-day activities of the IT staff
  2. Supervise IT infrastructure and ensure systems support operational needs.
  3. Manage vendor relationships for IT solutions and services.

Risk Management

  1. Oversee risk management operations including insurance and legal
  2. Develop and implement risk management processes for consistent operations.

Office and Administrative Management

  1. Manage and supervise the day-to-day activities of the Administrative staff
  2. Develop and implement administrative processes for consistent operations.

Requirements:

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  2. 7+ years of experience in operations and financial management roles
  3. Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  4. Strong knowledge of financial principals and regulations
  5. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
